Hawaii Parkour Established: 2007 Location: Honolulu, HI Hawaii Parkour (HIPK) was founded in 2007 by Ozzi Quintero as one of the country’s first true statewide community hubs. Based out of Honolulu, Hawaii, HIPK connects all of the Parkour practitioners of the Hawaiian Islands in order to share their common passion for Parkour. Hawaii Parkour has been recognized nationally as an exemplary Parkour community for their work and efforts to share the discipline of Parkour and its, philosophy throughout the state of Hawaii and beyond. Through online discussions and community meet-ups Hawaii Parkour is constantly spreading knowledge with both experienced and new practitioners alike. HIPK also holds classes at multiple fitness centers in Oahu, and they host Parkour awareness workshops where they invite anyone to try the discipline of Parkour. Says HIPK founder Ozzi Quintero: For Hawaii Parkour the emphasis is not only Parkour itself, but also disciplines of movement that assist and develop functional skills that complement the practice of Parkour. With so much access to the outdoors with jungles, mountains and oceans, the opportunities for HIPK are unlimited. Hawaii Parkour’s main goal is to bring Parkour as a regular requirement for the Physical Education in the schools of Hawaii.
