The new Take Flight home page is here! We’ve been working on it for some time, and if you haven’t seen it yet… well it is now unveiled :)

Our new home page was designed specifically to give you a better resource and direction from our home page. Instead of just a few images and links, the TF home page now includes:

• Featured Parkour products
• Official Take Flight photos
• Take Flight blog updates
• TF Facebook post updates
• Facts about Take Flight and our products

Embedded in the majority of this content are links to different places on the site too which will help you find the clothing, information, and the Parkour news and updates you are looking for!

This is just one example of the daily improvements we at Take Flight make in our constant goal of continual improvement and progress. It is, after all, the Parkour way. We hope you enjoy this update and it brings benefit to our friends and fans and Traceurs worldwide!

People ask us all the time about coupons, deals, and TF/Parkour news. We almost always point fans and customers to our Facebook page for these updates. BUT there is one other way to received succinct Take Flight updates, exclusive coupons on Parkour clothing, and inside news, and that would be the Take Flight Newsletter. With a new site feature recently added, now subscribing to the newsletter is simpler than ever.

We added a feature to our site and now we have a new subscriber button and it’s at the top of every page. With this new feature, signing up for our newsletter is so simple even a cave-Traceur could do it. A screen shot image of the subscriber button is below, and all you have to do is enter your email address and press “Submit” to be added to the list.

Once you’re part of our newsletter subscriber base, you are officially in! Once a month we’ll send you the updates and coupons you need to stay on top of the Parkour world, and if at anytime you decide you don’t want to be a subscriber, all you have to do is hit “unsubscribe” which is a link included in every email we send.

Thanks for being such an important part of the worldwide Parkour community and our efforts to spread Parkour throughout the planet! The newsletter is just one more way we do this, and we look forward to sending it to you!

A ton of our fans pride themselves on sharing Take Flight and Parkour with their family and friends. We thought about this and decided, “If our fans are doing this, why not reward them for it?” This is indeed our idea behind our new Take Flight fan appreciation initiative!

Here is how it works:

• Simply write a blog about Take Flight! You can write anything about us or our clothing including things such as your favorite design, our slogan “Jump. Fly. Dream.”, how TF clothing feels to wear and train it, the first time you heard about Take Flight, or even about yourself, Parkour, and how Take Flight fits in to and embodies your lifestyle. Those are just a couple ideas. Whatever you want to write about is completely up to you.
• Include at least one image of our clothing on your blog (you can copy any of the images from our apparel page located here)
• Include at least one link to our main site in your blog post (link to this page—-> www.TakeFlightApparel.com/apparel.html)
• Publish the blog, share it with your friends, and send us a link to your blog post via an email at contest@takeflightapparel.com so we can see it!

From there we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll read your blog and evaluate it based on multiple factors 3 of which are:

• How much effort it looks like you spent writing the blog and formatting it.
• How many TF links you put in your post.
• How many TF images you used in the post*

We will take all these factors into consideration and send you a gift card to our store ranging from $3 to $15 depending on the above criteria!

We are launching a new tee today! But there is a twist: you get to decide which one! Here are the details:

We have three new Parkour shirts that we are ready to release. Each of the three is a new color combo of the 3 different shirts featured below.

Sometime tonight we will post on the Take Flight Facebook page asking which design you want to see launched in a new color. We’ll tally the votes and the most popular choice is the design we will release. It’s that simple. Make sure to stay tuned and let your voice be heard!

For almost 9 months now we at Take Flight have held a weekly contest called the 1,000 Interaction Challenge. Since it was debuted it January 2009 in accordance with our Take Flight Facebook page we have grown from a fan page of a couple hundred to now almost 13,000! With such a large page, our ability to spread Parkour to the masses and around the world is so much greater than before that we are updating our call to action for our fans and changing the 1,000 interaction challenge to a 2,500 Interaction Challenge.

2,500 weekly interactions is all it takes for us to give away more FREE PK clothing every week!

The 1,000 Interaction Challenge will now be called the 2,500 Interaction Challenge. The rules are the same save for one slight modification: every time we reach the interaction mark in a week (comprised of “Like”s and comments on our Facebook page including the wall) we will give away another free Parkour tee to a lucky fan. The change is, now instead of requiring 1,000 interactions in a single week we now need 2,500.

With soon to be 13,000 fans on the Take Flight Facebook page, reaching 2,500 interactions is a still theoretically so easy. We post about 20 Parkour posts a week and each of our fans can “Like” and comment on each post. That gives us a potential max interaction total of over half a million! But don’t take 2,500 challenge lightly for that reason. Reaching that many interactions will still only be accomplished if you and the rest of our fans spread Parkour and the videos we post through Facebook by liking, commenting, and sharing the links with friends.

Parkour is growing around the world everyday, but there is still so much to do. So partner with us through the 2,500 Interaction Challenge to spread Parkour through Facebook, and let’s make it happen! You might even win a Parkour shirt along the way.

Day three of our highlight of the 2010 Parkour Clothing line is here, and today we are focusing on the PK Splat Tee!

The PK Splat Tee has already distinguished itself as one of the favorite designs from the new launch both because of its design and its color combos. The tee is simple and yet bold, highlighting Parkour with its underground initials. The tee features a giant “PK” written across the chest in a textureized and urban roman font, and has an additional design component made up of subtle splotches that bring added effects and urban feel to the tee.

We don’t have much to say about this tee in terms of the conceptual design or the developmental process. The concept design for this tee and the inaugural color schemes actually came directly from Take Flight founder Adam Dunlap who had a very specific idea for the shirt from the beginning. Suffice to say, that given the origins of the tee’s design, the final result is a true and authentic Parkour tee that every Traceur can be proud to wear.
