Week 16: 608 Interactions…
by Take Flight on May.03, 2010, under For Our Fans, Promotions
The 1,000 Interaction Challenge continues as does our pursuit of 1,000 “Likes”, comments, and wall posts on our Facebook wall in a single week. We are super excited to reach this because when we do we are going to give away free Parkour clothing! This week completes the fourth month that this contest has been going on, and we officially logged 608 interactions this week.
What makes the 1,000 Interaction Challenge so great is that there is nothing you have to do to enter except be our fans and interact with the content we post through Facebook. Whether we reach the 1,000 interaction mark tomorrow, in one week, or in 3 months, the free PK apparel will be there when we do. Keep the interactions coming and keep spreading the word about Parkour through Facebook!
Weeks 13, 14, & 15: 609, 451, and 276 Interactions…
by Take Flight on Apr.26, 2010, under News
The 1,000 Interaction Challenge has been a very interesting promotion since day 1. In our quest to give away free Parkour clothing we’ve seen interaction totals on our Facebook page that were high and low. The past three weeks have demonstrated this fluctuation rather well with some of the largest varying interaction totals to date. Below are the totals for weeks 13, 14, and 15.
- Week 13: 609
- Week 14: 451
- Week 15: 276
What we have learned over the past 15 weeks is that some content we share lends itself better to actual interactions (“Likes” and comments) compared to other content. With that in mind we’ve also learned that our weekly interaction total is an inaccurate estimation of the influence our posts have had on our fans. It turns out that even though only 276 interactions took place in week 15, we had more than 1,500 people visit to our page in that time! The contrast is shown: what seemed like a small number of interactions in week 15 was actually a very successful week because of how many people were shown, introduced, and learned about Parkour through the Take Flight Facebook page.
As the Take Flight Facebook page continues to grow we’ll continue to provide Parkour videos, content, news, and inspirational quotes for all of our fans and followers. With thousands of people watching the videos we post every month, and reading about Parkour because of the content we share, we couldn’t be prouder than to have such interactions totals, even if they vary widely from week to week.

Week 11 & 12: 428 and 508 Interactions…
by Take Flight on Mar.31, 2010, under For Our Fans, Promotions
The 1,000 Interaction Challenge remains a contest that is as elusive as it is simple even as the fan page grows. With the goal of 1,000 interactions surely in reach, the last two weeks we recorded 428 and 508 interactions respectively.
Since the 1,000 Interaction Challenge debuted 3 months ago we have been dedicated to tracking the number of comments, posts, and likes made through the Take Flight Facebook fan page in order to promote the spreading off Parkour around Facebook. In this we also give away free clothing when we reach 1,000 interactions during a week.
Every week the number of interactions have fluctuated from as low as 322 (in week 10) to as high 864 (in week 8), but we’ve never quite reached the 1,000 mark. Nevertheless, in these last 12 weeks we’ve amassed 6,201 interactions and averaged just under 517 interactions per week.
It is only time before we reach the 1,000 interaction goal. In the meantime we will continue our staunch dedication to bringing our fans the most relevant, entertaining, and uplifting content in the weeks and month to come. After all, when we look at 6,201 interactions totaled over the past 3 months we really can’t complain. Thanks to your help the ultimate goal of spreading Parkour, inspiration, and movement is being achieve each and every week.
B13U Comes to DVD!!!
by Take Flight on Mar.26, 2010, under David Belle, New Releases, Products, Promotions
District 13 Ultimatum (B13U) is coming to DVD! Starring David Belle and Cyril Raffaelli, B13U was the most highly anticipated Parkour film ever made when it released in February 2009 in Europe. Since then the film has debuted around the world and is finally being released on DVD in the
United States. In accordance with the exciting release we have worked hard to make sure our customers can be the first to own the DVD.
At Take Flight we have always been and always will be huge supporters and promoters of Parkour films and projects involving David Belle. Banlieue 13 and B13 Ultimatum are the top two on both of these lists. Fortunately we have some strong relationships with various companies that allow us to sell products from these movies that others can’t. This is true in the case of our posters, and it is now true with the B13U DVD. Even though the movie doesn’t release until April 27th, we have it in our store for pre-order purchase for Traceurs worldwide!
District 13 Ultimatum officially releases on DVD on April 27th, and you can pre-order it now through our store for only $19.95. All orders placed for the DVD will be shipped ‘rush’ on this date, and all pre-orders will receive FREE shipping. Now is your chance to be, not one of the first but, THE first to own District 13 Ultimatum on DVD. Don’t miss out. Take advantage of this special opportunity and pre-order B13U now!
Week 8: 864 Interactions… HUH?!?!
by Take Flight on Mar.05, 2010, under News, Promotions
The confusion has finally been resolved. At the end of week 8 our interaction total (computed by Facebook) was 864. Our eyes literally popped out of our heads in disbelief when we saw this because we were sure we had reached 1,000 interactions. We were so sure we had made it. In fact, on one post alone we had 171 interactions comprised of 61 likes and 110 comments! Because of the seemingly low count we went back and personally added up all the comments and likes made on the week’s previous 14 posts. Indeed there were only 864 interactions.
We are extremely disappointed in this interaction total. Not because of the interaction turn out – the turn out from or followers was fantastic! We are disappointed in this total because in some incredible way there was less than 1,000! We are the ones giving away free Parkour clothing and we still feel like we were robbed!
We truly cannot explain the sub 1,000 interaction performance from week 8. Nevertheless, because of the effort put forth by our followers we have decided to consider it a triumph anyway. We have decided to, in essence, treat week 8 as a win and add one shirt to the interaction pool. Every week that we reach 1,000 interactions we give away a free shirt. Next time we reach it we are going to give away two.
Best of luck this week in reaching 1,000 interactions. As it stand currently we have 672 interactions. Competing with the final three day surge of last week’s interaction challenge is going to be difficult, but with more than 3,100 Take Flight fans on Facebook, with a combined effort this can be done. Best of luck!
Week 6: 329 Interactions…
by Take Flight on Feb.18, 2010, under News, Promotions
Week 6 of the 1,000 Interaction Challenge ended with 329 total interactions. That is shy of our 1,000 goal and the interaction total that triggers free clothing. We are already half way through week 7 though, so if we finish up strong we’ll be giving away Parkour apparel in no time.
A couple things we have in mind:
We have been asked by multiple people to display daily count totals of interactions. We like this idea so starting today we are going to begin doing this. We are hoping that by displaying the running interaction total we will give everyone a little more insight into the count which will help everyone reach the 1,000 mark. With that in mind we have to point out that interaction totals are calculated based on the previous 7 day total and not on that specific calendar week. For example, when we say on a Wednesday that we have had “250 interactions” that means we have had 250 interactions over the past 7 days not that we have 250 interactions since Monday.
It is only going to be a short time before we reach the 1,000 interaction mark for a week, and once we do, it will most likely become an unstoppable weekly occurrence. Because of your help and enthusiasm for Parkour the Take Flight Facebook Fan Page is growing every day and now boasts more than 2,600 fans! The fan page interaction goal is only 1,000 total interactions a week. If only half of all the fans interact with a post only one time in a week we will easily surpass the 1,000 mark. Good luck in week 7!
Week 5: 427 Interactions…
by Take Flight on Feb.09, 2010, under For Our Fans, Promotions
If you aren’t familiar with our 1,000 Interaction Challenge it goes like this: every week that we experience 1,000 or more total interactions through our Facebook fan page we give away free Parkour clothing. It’s a great deal and the easiest contest method we could devise to give away free Parkour gear to our followers. Unfortunately we haven’t reached the goal yet and week 5 was no different. The fifth chance to win concluded with 427 total interactions for the week.
The 427 total interactions is a bit difficult for us to conceptualize and it probably is for you too. With more than 2,300 Take Flight fans and growing, there are enough people to easily double the 1,000 interaction goal in a single post. And with the roughly 20 posts we made last week (about 3 a day), the potential to reach 10,000+ interactions was even a very real possibility. However, the interaction numbers talk. If you go back and look at the number of “Likes” and comments on each post it averages about 20. Although this many interactions on a single post is a pretty good total, multiplied out it doesn’t reach the 1,000 mark we were shooting for.
The overarching goal of the 1,000 Interaction Challenge for us is to spread Parkour. That is done both through us giving away free Parkour clothing and by us posting Parkour content on page for followers to see. With this main goal in mind 427 interactions for week 5 isn’t a fail at all as some people might view it. Instead it was 427 occasions of people proactively reaching out and showing their experience, enjoyment, and support of Parkour. Furthermore, inherent in this
number is multiple times more people who were introduced and influenced by Parkour but didn’t interact with the content via “Likes” or comments. From that stance, week 5 was a great success even though we didn’t reach the 1,000 goal.
Do not worry, we will reach the 1,000 mark soon enough. And when we do it will be that much more of a milestone to demonstrate the influence and impact of Parkour is having around the world and through Facebook.
Week 3: 488 Interactions + New Rule
by Take Flight on Jan.27, 2010, under For Our Fans, Promotions
The third week of the 1,000 Interaction Challenge ended with 488 interactions. The total for this week was lower than either of the previous two weeks and not quite half way to the 1,000 interaction mark we need to give away free Parkour clothing. In order to help us reach the 1,000 mark this week we’ve included a few thoughts and ideas below and also a new rule to the game.

DC Batman Issue #488
Suggestions
#1. Invite your friends to the Take Flight Facebook page. It takes about one minuet and is as simple as going to the “Suggest to Friends” link at the top left corner of the page and selecting everyone you know. The thinking behind this is simple: if on average only 25% of fans are responding then there needs to be more fans to win! The video, quotes, and information we post on our page are meant for everyone – Traceurs and non-Parkour people alike. If anything Traceurs appreciate them more, but all of our followers regardless of age, gender, location, or athletic pursuit enjoy them. With our commitment to Parkour and bringing our followers entertaining and insightful posts everyday there’s no reason to be bashful. Invite those friends and in the process you’ll not only give them something they want, you’ll have the chance to win free clothing at the same time.
#2. You can also start conversations about the post we make. If you have a question ask it. If you what to ask for other people’s perspective make it known. If you have something insightful to say, say it. All of these types of comments will naturally create more unique interactions on each post as well as repeat interaction which will bring us to the 1,000 interaction mark much quicker.
New 1,000 Interaction Rule
In order to be entered in the 1,000 Interaction Challenge give-a-way you have to have make at least one
interaction during that week. In the past, simply being a follower of Take Flight on Facebook entitled you to entry in the contest. Although we may reinstate that rule in the future, for now we figure that those of you that are committed to the cause and consistently interacting with us should probably be given a better chance to win once we reach the 1,000 mark.
We’re rooting for you, we really are. Let’s make it happen this week by reaching the 1,000 interaction mark so we can give away some free Parkour gear.
Week 1: 527 Interactions…
by Take Flight on Jan.13, 2010, under News, Promotions
The only thing better than Parkour clothing is free Parkour clothing. That’s why we’ve developed the 1,000 Interaction Challenge. The rules re simple: if Take Flight followers tally 1,000 or more weekly interactions through our fan page through likes and comments we give away free clothing. Sunday night was the first complete week of the contest and we tallied the total interactions through the Take Flight Fan Page. The total was short of the 1,000 mark with 527 total interactions.
Luckily, the 1,000 Interaction Challenge is an ongoing weekly contest invented to help people spread Parkour through Facebook. That means this week is another chance to win. And in order to help our followers reach the 1,000 mark we are going to work even harder to post a higher number of quality Parkour videos, quotes, and Parkour related content on our page this week. Best of luck!
