Parkour Tutorials Coming Soon!

by on Jul.21, 2010, under For Our Customers, Training

We recently asked our fans what they wanted to see from us. To be exact, the post on our Facebook said:

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD NOW! We want the Take Flight page to be something you are enthusiastic about sharing with your friends. What can we do for you to make this a reality? More PK videos? More quotes? Discounts?! New clothing?! A huge sale?! Or something else? This is your chance to change what we do at Take Flight …and how we run our page so let us know by commenting on this post!

In addition to fans wanting us to continue posting videos and quotes, the number one response we received was to begin making Parkour tutorial videos. When we heard this idea we immediately loved it! As such, starting this week we will begin doing this and we hope to release a new video every week or two.

Throughout the months to come we plan to release Parkour tutorials via the Take Flight YouTube channel on all sorts of movements and techniques to help our followers learn Parkour and be safe in their progression. With this in mind, if there is a specific technique you’d like to learn let us know so we can make a tutorial on it. Post on our Facebook wall or send us an email and we’ll get back to you. We want these video to help you, so let us know what you want!

1,000 Interaction Challenge. Win Free PK Clothing!!!

by on Jan.04, 2010, under For Our Customers, Promotions

At Take Flight, Parkour clothing is what we do, and spreading Parkour around the world is one of our missions. For those of you that are already followers of us on Facebook, you see our commitment to this everyday through our daily postings of Parkour videos, article, and inspirational quotes from David Belle and others. With our focus on Parkour, our commitment to the Parkour community, and the goal of spreading Parkour around the world all in mind, the obvious question was posed: “What is the best way to have a running contest to give away free Parkour clothing?!” (actually in retrospect that question may not be that obvious to most people, but that is how we think so it made sense to us ;-) The 1,000 interaction challenge is our answer, and it is quite possibly the simplest contest format ever devised.

Multiple times everyday we post Parkour videos and information on our Facebook Fan Page for our followers to enjoy, learn from, be inspired by, and pass on to friends. Like any status update on Facebook, fans that see these posts can “Like” them or comment on them. Because of the high number of people that already routinely “Like” and comment on our postings we have decided that using this is the best way to give away free clothing. Here is how it is going to work:

  • parkour-shirts-by-take-flightWe call the “Likes” and comments on our Facebook postings “Interactions.”
  • At the end of every week (Sunday night) we are going to tally the total number of interactions made during that week.
  • If the total number of interactions is 1,000 or greater for that week we are going to give away a Parkour shirt for free!
  • We will select a Facebook follower at random, contact him/her, and send him/here shirt absolutely free of charge. International shipping included if necessary!
  • This is an ongoing contest so it will happen every week from here on out unless otherwise specified.

Winning free clothing from Take Flight is now as simple as “Liking” Parkour videos, and commenting on the articles and quotes we post. And with more than 1,500 Take Flight Facebook followers (and growing daily) reaching the 1,000 interaction mark is as simple as each person clicking “Like” only about once every two weeks! The way we figure it, this is the simplest way to win free clothing ever devised. Fortunately for you it’s just part of our commitment to our fans and spreading Parkour.
