Summer Is Here – Stay Fun and Safe
by Take Flight on Jun.16, 2011, under Training
In the words of Alice Cooper, “School’s out for summer!” With all this extra time to train Take Flight wants everyone to make sure they are being safe. And not just safe with yourself but with your environment too. To keep yourself safe when you train we have a couple recommendations:
- Train within your limits
- Use proper progression
- Don’t overestimate your ability
- Wear good fitting athlete clothing and supportive shoes
- Stay well hydrated especially if you are training in the sun
Parkour isn’t just about knowing obstacles and yourself although those are important. It’s about respecting the people and environment around you too.
- Be conscious of where public areas and don’t trepass on private property
- Don’t leave trash where you train
- Be respectful of other pedestrians and people passing where you are training
- Don’t be disturbing to other by making excessive noise or using foul language
Being safe with yourself and respectful to others and the environment will help Parkour continue to grow with the clean image it has. This is something we all want and are working for as a community. So join in and do your part. And in that we will all have a great summer.
