Hawaii Parkour on KITV News!
by Take Flight on Sep.08, 2011, under News, Videos
In recent news…
Take Flight Partner Hawaii Parkour had an important feature on KITV news where they were able to spread Parkour throughout the island. A reported joined up with HIPK to train and learn about Parkour first hand. It was a great experience for everyone involved and gave HIPK great exposure to the public in Hawaii.
Founder of Hawaii Parkour Ozzi Quintero had this to say about the feature:
“The team from KITV did an awesome job as they portrayed the message we wanted to share with the community. Thanks you all who made this possible.”

TF Fan of the Week – Matt Woolley
by Take Flight on Sep.05, 2011, under For Our Fans, News, Promotions
We are excited to have another international Fan of the Week: Matt Woolley from the U.K.!
Affectionately know as “Woolley Jumper” to his friends, Matt is a Parkour veteran who trains all around Brownhills, Walsall in the U.K. When he and his friends train they often have at least one camera around, so Matt has loads of great pictures from all their favorite training spots including this picture used for the Take Flight page with him wearing the Roof Jump Tee from TF. He also does a lot of filming and editing and has over a dozen videos on his facebook page.
When all is said and done the United Kingdom gets a big round of applause from us. Matt Woolley is our second Fan of the Week from that country this month, and he and the U.K. deserve it for all their Take Flight repping and Parkour focus. Congratulations again Matt for continuing the trend and being this weeks FOW!
TF Fan of the Week – Michael Planelles
by Take Flight on Aug.22, 2011, under For Our Fans, News, Promotions
We named Michael ‘StreetTech’ Planelles the #1 fan of Take Flight this week!
Michael is a proud Cuban now living and training in West Palm Beach, Florida. He posted a few great freerunning pictures on the Take Flight Facebook wall and we instantly took notice of his coordinated outfit. He trains wearing matching Take Flight Pants and Roof Jump Tee like in this picture.
He is a loyal fan of Take Flight, a good student, and a great friend. He lives by his favorite quotation from Gerard way: “One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure its worth watching.” Sounds like Parkour to us :)
Thank you Michael for being such a dedicated Traceur and a great fan. For all your work you are this weeks Take Flight Fan of the Week. Enjoy it and keep those cool pics coming!
TF Fan of the Week – Adam Richard Livesey
by Take Flight on Aug.16, 2011, under News
This week we have our first Fan of the Week from “across the pond”: Adam Richard Livesey!
As a member of the ‘UK Street Monkeys’ it makes sense that our latest Fan of the Week is from the United Kingdom. Adam is from Preston, Lancashire, to be exact and his team trains, teaches classes, and puts on performances for the local community there. Adam was chosen for Fan of the Week because he and the UK monkeys are great role models for young Traceurs just learning about Parkour. He also has some great PK/FR pictures featuring Parkour clothing and we had to give props where props were due.
Congratulations again to Adam for being the Fan of the Week, and keep up the great work!

Take Flight Music Showcase!
by Take Flight on Jul.27, 2011, under Articles, For Our Fans, News, Videos
Music is a huge inspiration for almost everyone. We use it to pumped us up, and help us focus and quiet our minds. We use it for inspiration and to inspire creativity. We even use it to change our moods and energize our bodies when we exercise. Although the type of music one chooses for all of these things is a very personal choice, the idea of music percolates through all we do and it’s the same with Parkour.
This week we have decided to showcase the idea of music in the Parkour context. We’ll be touching on multiple themes all intended to enlighten and change the way you think about music. There are some songs that have already risen to the top of the Parkour world and become iconic in nature and we’ll be showcasing these songs and the videos behind them. Music choices for a Parkour video is another theme we will be touching on as the simple use or not use of a song can change a video’s theme, message, tone, feel, and overall impact. We will also be showing some horrendous music choices that were chosen for comedy purposes and you’re guaranteed to laugh. Throughout it all this week you are going to hear a wide variety of music including hip-hop, rap, dub-step, techno, and more. And we are even going to include types of music that you may not expect.
This TF Facebook feature will be taking place via videos posts this week on the the Take Flight Facebook page from Wednesday through Sunday so keep your eyes and most importantly ears open and see what you can pick up. We think it will change the way you look at music in the context of Parkour, and it might even help you choose the next song for your own Parkour video.

The 2011 Take Flight Parkour Clothing Launch is just days away!
Designed and produced specifically for Traceurs worldwide, the 2011 launch is as true as anything we’ve ever made and continue our quest for Parkour purity. By mixing urban concepts, current trends, and the Parkour style that Take Flight has pioneered worldwide for Traceurs since our foundation, our 2011 TF launch supports the 2009 and 2010 launches in a way that only Take Flight could do.
In a mix of simplicity and urban elegance, the new launch will debut 6 brand new Parkour tees as well as a slew of new dynamic colors options of past fan favorites like the Original Parkour Tee and the Original Parkour Tee II. With plans for new hoodies, new pants, and new long sleeves for the upcoming winter as well, this launch is just the beginning of another year of pushing the Parkour plateaus and sharing the discipline of Parkour with people worldwide.
Rivaled in excitement only by the 2009 and 2010 Take Flight launches, more than 30,000 people have already been invited to the official TF Facebook Launch event. Trevor de Groot Never Gives Up!
by Take Flight on Jul.18, 2011, under Articles, News, Training
Training Parkour can be quite safe when done properly, but no matter how careful we are sometimes accidents happen. Accidents can teach us that we were not being as safe as we should have been, while other accidents are just fluke events. Flow Team athlete Trevor de Groot recently suffered a major injury to his foot after a stroke of bad luck.
After climbing down off of a wall the top of the wall fell slamming down on his foot. This crushed his toes and he required 50 stitches! Trevor foot was completely out of commission for a couple weeks making training impossible.
This isn’t stopping Trevor though, “I plan on demonstrating that injuries should not stop Traceurs from progressing… Traceurs should never give up.” Trevor has been working his upper body and conditioning to keeping improving.
Take Flight athletes really are die hard. We are hoping Trevor has a swift and healthy recovery from this and in the upcoming weeks we will be posting training videos on the Take Flight Facebook page and blogs to keep fans up to date with Trevor’s progression.
Hope For A Parkour Park In Texas!
by Take Flight on Jul.15, 2011, under Articles, News, Training
“Now, is a great great time for Parkour!” – Matthew Lee Willis of Texas Parkour
It is the mission of Texas Parkour and the Parkour Federation to make the Austin Parks and Recreation Board of Officials see the truth in this quote. Over 2 months in the works, Take Flight Partner Texas Parkour has been trying to build support for building a Parkour park in Austin, Texas, and just recently they received news that the committee accepted their first round proposal! In only 2 weeks they will be giving a presentation that will determine the future of this project.
We are extremely excited for Texas Parkour and we are looking forward to supporting them throughout the process. For more information on the park and how to help and to show your support, visit Texas Parkour at the following sites:
